Overview

  • We recommend entering leases directly into Cradle unless you have multiple leases with identical lease terms, discount rates, and lease payments, or if your current system allows for easy data export.

  • If neither of these conditions apply, using the bulk upload template is not recommended.

When Not to Use the Bulk Upload Template

  • When you have multiple Excel calculation files with unique lease inputs—such as varying lease terms, discount rates, and lease payments—that require manual extraction for each lease

  • If your leases are in PDF format, necessitating a thorough review to extract essential lease details, such as terms, discount rates, and payments.

In these cases, extracting data for entry into the bulk upload template and subsequently uploading it to Cradle can be time-consuming and may lead to import errors. We recommend entering leases directly into Cradle instead. This approach offers several benefits:

  • You will become more familiar with using Cradle

  • Cradle can validate input errors immediately, flagging any mistakes as they occur

  • You can review lease details and payments right away to ensuring accuracy

When to Use the Bulk Upload Template

  • When your existing solution allows you to export all lease inputs, including lease terms, discount rates, and lease payments into an Excel file, making it easy to copy the data into the bulk upload template.

  • When most of your leases share the same inputs, allowing for easy copy-and-paste of the data.
