How the accounting end date and renewals work in Cradle

To calculate the NPV of the lease liability, Cradle needs an end date. The date you enter here will be one of the main inputs to the calculation. 

Per the standard, this will also include "reasonably likely" renewals. For example, the initial contract term is to 31 December 2025, with an option to renew for an additional five years to 31 December 2030. As a result, you input the accounting end date as 31 December 2030

To be reminded of the upcoming renewal on 31 December 2025, enter it into the "Events" tab. 

To do this, select the "Events" tab:

Once "+ Add Event" has been selected, you will then see the following window

Add the renewal period. If you want, you can even add a reminder with the renewal period!
